Activities for your Cirneco dell'Etna

LURE COURSING:
There are several activities open to Cirnechi. One of these is called lure coursing. Lure coursing as an event in which dogs chase an artificial lure, in an open field and are judged by two judges, on the dogs overall ability, speed, endurance, agility, and how well they follow the lure.

Cirnechi are elgible to compete with The American Sighthound Field Association (ASFA). Meets are held all over the country, and an event calendar can be found on their website.

In time, the Cirneco will also be able to compete in AKC sanctioned lure coursing meets.

OVAL TRACK RACING:
Cirnechi can also compete in oval track racing with the National Oval Track Racing Association (NOTRA).

SPRINT RACING:
And sprint racing with the Large Gazehound Racing Association (LGRA).

AGILITY:
Cirnechi can compete for agility titles with the United States Dog Agility Association (USDAA), and perhaps in the future with AKC.

CONFORMATION:
For every breed, there is a breed standard which is a written description of the perfect dog of that breed. Standards describe the mental and physical characteristics that allow each breed to perform the function for which they were originated. The standard describes the dog's looks, movement and temperament. Breeders involved with each breed are attempting to produce a dog that most closely conforms to the breed standard. Judges examine the dogs and place them in accordance to how close each dog compares with their mental image of the "perfect" dog as described in the breed's official standard.

Cirnechi can currently be shown with the following orginazations:
Inernational All-Breed Canine Association (IABCA)
Rarities/North American Kennel Club (NAKC)
American Rare Breed Association (ARBA)
United Kennel Club (UKC)
Rare Breed Club of South Western Ontario (RBCSWO)

Hopefully soon they will also be elgible to compete with:
The Canadian Kennel Club (CKC)
and the American Kennel Club (AKC)

The breed is also able to compete in any FCI country. Visit their website for a list of member countries.
